Website privacy
This page explains analytics and feedback on the public Sourcebook website at sourcebook.online. It does not describe data stored locally by the Sourcebook Desktop app.
What we measure
We use a self-hosted copy of Umami to understand website visits and whether people use key links. It records page views, referring sites, broad browser/device categories, approximate country, and clicks on selected GitHub, Desktop download, and Picker install links. Click events include only general labels such as platform and placement—not the contents of your Books, Sources, chats, or files.
Where the data goes
Analytics are stored in a database on the server operated for Sourcebook. They are not sent to Umami's hosted analytics service. Umami's tracker does not use cookies or cross-site tracking; self-hosted analytics data is retained until it is manually deleted.
Feedback
You can submit feedback directly without a GitHub account. The message, selected category, and general source (website, Picker, or Desktop) are stored in a private database operated for Sourcebook and are visible only to the Sourcebook team. An email address is optional and is stored only if you provide it so we can reply. The feedback API does not include your IP address in the feedback record. Feedback text and email are not sent to Umami. The feedback database is retained until records are manually removed. If you choose GitHub Issues instead, your post is handled by GitHub under its own privacy policy. Discord and WeChat links will be available when ready.
Sourcebook app privacy
The Desktop app and Picker handle your Sources separately from this website analytics. Read the Sourcebook product privacy policy for details.
